put the folder which you extraced into the 'MODS' folder which is in the folder which you installed you il2

my mods folder has a - in front of it.

Delete the - before it. It just disables the folder.

you can download a version for HSFX from SAS.

so i just remove the - from the mods folder and plonk it in? then it should run?

is this the same for most mods? would this work for freddy's P-51 cockpit for example?

It works for most cockpits and effects. Maps, aircraft and sound effects don't work by doing this though.
