working on a 'new' slot utility plane for Korean war/Vietnam era... and those pilots often (read usually) wore simple ballcaps and or utility type service caps... anybody know of a pilot figure mod that uses those or any really savy guys that can make some? ---don't know if it's even possible but it would be way cool and make Korean War util planes (and my upcoming mod) more authentic...
thanks for any interest.

Interesting idea, but the actual pilot model for the IL-2 only wears a helmet, or a Pilots cap,
with or without goggles.
Baseball caps would be nice, but not really necessary.

that's entirely correct. many/most util pilots of WW2 did in fact wear util/ball/service caps. and even the pilot's co-pilots of many bombers did as well. and by the time of the Korean War and Viet War it was an old, established tradition. i understand that Oleg did not model this in the game... and naturally it's not needed to actually fly, (are one hundred percent of any of our mods actually 'needed' to fly a plane in this game?) but it 'would' be correctly authentic and add flavor... especially to the the particular Korean War/Viet War mod that i am currently working on. i'm a slot maker/class file guy with experience in those areas plus some hier/mesh experience... i don't know 3D if that's what's needed to make a new 'capped' pilot figure. but if somebody will make it, it'd definitely be included in the new mod i'm working on.

While you're at it, don't forget, sunglasses. I'm sure there's photos around somewhere showing this type of attire.
