If I'm not wrong, the Spitfire Mk.VIII of the footage is the one that was originally restored in the late '80ies by Gianfranco Actis, from Italy. It was painted in the No. 17 Squadron markings. Later Gianfranco sold the Spit.

If there's not any other Mk.VIII flying in the world, I'm pretty sure this Spit is the one I'm speaking, obviously in a new repaint.

Here a link in connection to my previous post. I was wrong about the name of the Mr. Actis. It's Franco, and not Gianfranco.

The site is in italian, but still very interesting.

This post (specifically the link) highlights the history of the Spitfire in question.
It is a MkVIII built & tested in 1944.
It was then shipped to Australia & assigned to the RAAF.
RIP Wing Cmdr R.H. (Bobby) Gibbes AM WG CMR DSO DFC, the RAAF Pilot who flew the Spitfire that this MkVIII's paint scheme depicts.
