Here here to the game that has held my interest longer than any other.

Only European Air War has managed to hold my interest as long as IL2. The reason I left EAW was IL2, so that is saying something. Even though I am an avid wargamer, there are two things that were always on my hard drive. MS Flight Sim (v5.1 - FSX) and whatever WWII combat flight sim was the best at that point in time. After MANY years I have finally found a replacement for MSFS, and it is called X-PLANE! Seriously, the very first aircraft add-on I have ever bought has been for X-Plane cause it is SOOO much more fun to me then MSFS. Flying in my area (coastal Maine) is much more detailed then the autogen of FSX, I dont know why, but I like it.

i have wings of prey...and played it for a little bit, but comparatively,

wings of prey = barely-historical child's game with good eye-candy :roll:

But even then I'll still play 46 I'm sure.



Other than that (not on the list) I play Silent Hunter III a lot with GWX mod. Soon....SH5....soon...

Totally agree. Sure when Storm of War comes out, me and a lot of others will play it but what people forget is that it will take time, maybe years untill you'll be landing your corsair on a carrier in that sim. It'll take years before you'll be flying over Germany with your P51 again. The first few years after Storm of War, IL2 will stil be a valuable much used sim that'll live next to Stom of War.
On the other hand, the only thing that can keep me from IL2 from time to time is some online dogfights in Rise of Flight.

LOL, you all fell for it Il-2 is my favourite sim. My favourite game is probably call-of-duty or arkham-asylum at the moment.

But from that list? Yes, probably My UI 1.2 version (still not migrated to HSFX/UP) although I think WoP is more of a game and Il-2 more of a sim; as there is a bigger learning curve in Il-2.

From my experience with WoP the controls are a mess; if it didn't have the graphics it'd be a complete failure IMHO.
