Hi everyone,

Well, to the point:

Landing on a carrier with the F9F is a pretty tough ordeal for me. I have attempted it about five times, and have only succeeded two times with one of them completely destroying the rear half of my plane (which was actually pretty cool, being able to see the engine and such).

Anywho, I am asking for any "general guidelines" in regards to putting the F9F down on a carrier.

Approach/landing speeds
General glideslope etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

for both stationary as well as moving carriers, i've found set up an approach at around 120mph and try to hold that with full flaps and gear + hook, flare slightly as ur nose reaches the end of the deck and cut throttle and she'll settle quite nicely.

Ive found for aircraft with high speeds like the F9F and Fury its easy to do a short approach rather than a long one, what i generally do is fly over the carrier then do a circuit at around to the left of the carrier with canopy open,hook down take off flaps and around 100-150 mph, (i know this is a little vauge but i guess its hard to explain) I head around 4,5 carriers lengths back from the deck, chop throttle drop gear and landing flaps and basically turn onto the apoach and the let the aircraft almost stall down onto the deck. This from what i could dicover is how the FAA did it in the book "They gave me a seafire" and it works well for me.

I'd say don't bother with HMS Illustrious, wonderfully trailblazing ship (technologically) though she may have been, she's a bugger to land on with the panther
