So, I increased my Page File from 4GB to 8GB, and that seems to have helped a little.Still have some fits, but I don't think it's system related.

So, cheers! Thanks for the advice. Big Grin

Thank you for taking the time to post all this information. One thing I did'nt see among the settings for nHancer was your settings for compatibility/OpenGL. What might these be? I always use OpenGl, even online and I would like to make sure I have the various settings working together well. Thanks again.

Hi, Murph

Interesting thing is that guys have been chomping at the bit, so to speak, to get things. I have received quite a bunch of requests and I am happy to say that all of them have been in my outline plans for months. Naturally everything must progress in order.

You'll be glad to know that the OpenGL Optimization setting that you request is planned into my schedule for later this week, among the whole nHancer Optimization issues. If I am ahead of schedule, then I will work on this today-no promises.

Coming next week is ATI Optimizations, including screen captures, as an example of my organization.

My motto is " Make time for fun flying ".

Murph,

How much improvement did the nHancer allow for you? Do you run Prerendered Frames, Multi Core, Multi Threading, and Dynamic Tiling?

Great stuff. I just got a used HP DV9640, going to modify the cooling, OC it, and try to play this beauty.

Hi,

Let us know how it goes and the specifics. I have a feeling that you are going to have an awesome rig for IL-2.

I just wanted to let guys know that I have some new ideas to improve this topic.

1) More ATI information
2) More Tools with screen captures
3) Collaboration with specific person (s)

Please post any suggestions for improvement!

I already have a great rig consisting of i5 750 OCed at 4.2 LC
sli 8800gts 512.
4 gb 1600 ram

I just like tinkering with older generation laptops, just trying to squeeze out more performance is so much fun. HP DV9640 specs are: Intel C2D T5250 1.5ghz, 250GB HDD, 2 GB of ram, planning to upgrade, 965 chipset, nVidia 8600GS 256mb card.

Nice, General

Do you have any little secrets about getting the best image quality? Just when I think that I have covered everything, I discover or learn about something else-how about you?

You could vFlash the bios to make it look like a more expensive card(Not for the faint of hearted) Other than that, it is just a trial and error with drivers.

Thanks, G Psycho

I have read a little about this in the past. For the sake of the readers, can you describe what it is, what it does for the user, and what basic things are needed? Do you know of any instructions anywhere about it which are easy to learn?

Hello, Walter

Here it is:

Vertical Sync is turned ON or OFF by going to your graphics card ( ATI or NVIDIA ) control panel. Look for either advanced or custom program settings. Vertical Sync is listed there.

In your main IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder, you need to explore. Open it and look for the file called il2set.exe You click on the il2set.exe

A box will appear which gives you the graphics settings to choose. Look at my Benchmarking post in this topic for what to activate. I have a nice screen capture image which is easy to understand. Especially, make sure that Clip Hint has a check to activate it.

In your confi.ini file, you need to change VisibilityDistance=2 to VisibilityDistance=3

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask here. There is also the option to post in the All Aircraft Arcade Language Forum. Someone is sure to know Italian. Of course, I am willing to do all I can for you. Smile
