HSFX crashes at 60%
#1

I've heard that its a discrepancy between my air.ini file and my buttons file, but I have no idea how to go about fixing it, if that is the problem.

Yes, what did you do just before it started the 60% crash? Install new aircraft?

Did you have 4.09m final version (Team Diadalos) working before installing HSFX?
If not you have to reinstall and ensure this before installing mods.

crash at 60% caused by mismatch between aircraft mods, buttons, ini and properties files.
With a clean HSFX install there should be no problem.

Did you start with a clean install? --- the answer should be yes.

Have you changed or overwritten any files in root/files folder --- the answer should be no.

Try disabling your MODS folder --- rename the folder -MODS

What happens when you run the game?

Yes I have the Final version of 4.09 from team daidalos. I disable the mod and it runs fine.

What do you mean by this...disable Hsfx history mod in JSGME?

A clean install of 4.09 and HSFX should NOT have a MODS folder.

Still NOT giving the WHOLE truth??? Why ???

When it starts up now do you see the HSFX start up screen or the Team Diadalos one.
If you see the TD screen then you need to enable HSFX using JSGME. Click on JSGME.exe in the root folder and shift HSFX History Mod to the right. If you don't have JSGME then you have to reinstall HSFX.

If you see the HSFX startup screen ok and you have disabled the MODS folder and it now runs ok thats all good.

Your problem is in the MODS folder.
What sub-folders do you have in the MODS folder?

i am running into the same problem, these guys havent tested their mod enough before releasing. what a waste of time
409 runs fine, reinstalled a few times, even redownloaded the ridiculous 2gig installer and patch

Not sure why you think that Elthore.
The majority of people manage to install the mods without running into major problems so there is no need for further "testing".
The installation instructions however are not always crystal clear.

What are your specific problems?
Start by saying how your install was setup when it was last functioning correctly.

4.09m with HSFX4.1 or 4.09m with UP2.0 --- or something else?
Then what did you add which caused the problem?

ok, I installed IL2 1946 from the DVD, the game runs. Then I installed 4.08 and 4.09m, the game still runs. Next was HSFX4.0 followed by the patch, and I made sure everything was going into the proper IL2 directory(it cant find the correct directory itself). At this point the game stops running. I run the included mod management program and remove HSFX, and the other two mods that are included. When they are replaced with stock 4.09m, the game runs again. If I add HSFX again, it will crash at 60%.

I think the original poster is on the right track, about button configuration conflict. My laptop has slightly different characters for ~ and ' and default IL2 has to be reconfigured to these keys. They appear visually the same, but for some reason the character code does not match up with everyone elses.

Did it run after installing HSFX 4.0, but before installing "the patch"?
What is "the patch"?

By the way, the "buttons" they are referring to has nothing to do with anything on your keyboard.

Obviously this is because of a logical process of elimination. Well, it is obvious to me.

Hi, elthore

Please take this the right way. Many-and I am saying many-people are quite happy with the HSFX 4.1 As being one of the beta testers MYSELF, I can assure you that every major mod pack in the whole world has been thoroughly tested by literally teams of testers.

I have in my schedule for next month to post a guide on the basics which will help you and all guys who just need a little point in the right direction.

Until then, please remain patient and just enjoy the learning process.

the patch i installed was HSFX 4.11, i never tested it inbetween. Do you suppose that the patch is breaking things?

And whats with these implications that the other poster is not being truthful? A clean install of 409m and HSFX does have JSGME with 'hsfx history mod' enabled. I am in the exact same situation, where if I disable it, then the game begins working again.
