Help needed/FMs and Slots
#1

I made this mod for a new version of the Spitfire MkIX, based on the MkVIII model, a while ago, but I haven't had a chance to finish it until now.

Anyway, because the new models use a completely different skin mapping to the default MkIX, and needs to use the MkVIII's cockpit, I want to put it into a new slot to avoid online problems.

I don't really know how to create slots, and my efforts to do so have mostly resulted in the game crashing at 20% loaded, which I'm told is a sign of bad or corrupted Java files, so I need either someone to create slots for these planes (MkIXc, MkIXc CLP, MkIXe and MkIXe CLP) or teach me how to do this.

I would also like to have opening canopies for these planes, and none of the MkVIII or MkIX FM's have these (apart from the MkVIIIFB, whose slot this is using at the moment), so I would need a suitable adaptation of either the MkVIII's or MkIX's FM in standard and clipped winged versions. The opening canopies aren't essential but would be nice to have, so if this isn't possible the existing MkIX FM's can be used.

If anyone would like to see this mod out there and can help with either of the problems I have, please contact me via PM to discuss this further.

Regards

If I am right then this sort of thing is banned here in open forum so please people PM him and do not discuss the topic in this thread thanks.

1. Flight model discussions in an open forums will not be allowed.

a. The reason why this stance is non-negotiable is because allowing information to be open in this matter would cripple the Il2 community. And on this note the reason this is so well hidden in the first place (as you need to ask someone in the know) is because of its sensitive nature. To explain further, many other modding sites do not freely share this data either, so we are all of one mind in keeping this topic closed in perpetuum.

2. Examining game classes in open forums will not be allowed.

a. The first reason why we are not allowing for code examination is because we are not a programming help house. Secondly just like item #1 above, there are things we are not willing to discuss unless you are a programmer and are in an established team recognized by your forums working on a project requiring help.

Maybe I should have highlighted the part in the original post "please contact me via PM to discuss this further". :-?

Also, I should point out, I am not asking people to teach me how to alter FM's, or discuss on this thread how to do this, rather I am asking if someone already in the know could make a version of an existing FM for me.

Your best bet would be to either Pm "Monguse" here at AAA or "Crix" over at SAS , be warned though , both are workaholics and always have a lot on so dont expect instant help.
