I hope this is in the correct section. I could not find anything specific on the topic, so I thought I would ask. I have tried to add a couple of items, that require you to place files in the "MODS" folder. I don't seem to have this folder in my program files. I am running 1946 with the 4.09 upgrade I think. Is there something that I am missing? Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!
If you have HSFX it will install the core mod files to root/files -- Do not edit, delete or move these files.
If you want to add more newer mods you need to create a MODS folder.
The game will look for files in this order:
MODS folder
files folder
*.sfs files
It will use the first copy it finds and ignore the others.
The new mod will come with instructions --- read them.
If any edits are required to ini or properties files etc then copy them from the files folder to the MODS folder keeping the same sub folder structure. Make your edits only to the copy in the MODS folder.
At any time you can revert back to a clean HSFX install by disabling the MODS folder.
This is done by renaming it from MODS to -MODS
That's right: Mods\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini
___________"-"__"-" \i18n\planes_ru;weapons_ru
I use IL-2 Mods Mega Pack. It's got the most things you need.
Unless you are trying to add more aircraft to your install of HSFX, you do not need to add anything from your files folder to your mods folder.
As far as adding other mods such as cockpits, effects, etc., you have two options;
1.Create a folder within your game folder called "mods" and put it in there.
2.Copy it to your folder called 'jsgmemods" and use the JSGME utility to activate it.
