Do you have real Bf.109 K data to compare to? I'm really quite interested to see how close IL-2 got to the real thing, for my own curiosity's sake.

Yes

I have two basic formats

1) FM ANALYSIS
2) FM REALSIM RATING

Where #1 is just the in-game plane performance, no attempt to say how real or un-real it is
Where #2 is the in-game performance compared to real world performance, where I show the error, percent error and sum the errors such to give it a rating between 0 and 100% accurate

As you know, we dont have real world data on ever plane in the game, thus the #2 stuff will be limited to what I can find.

I do have data on the 109Ks

Iam just working on the F-51D-30NA realism rating at the moment, once that is done Ill get to the 109Ks and such. Kind of working out the format with the 51D right now, once it is done I should be able to knock them out as quick as I can find real world data! Wink

Make sure you bounce all your information off of Monguse first before you post anything.

When comparing with "real world performance" is there a significant difference between available published performance figures and operational performance figures? -- or is any difference insignificant?

This is not something which I know much about --- just curious.

Not sure what it is your asking or saying Harper, do you have me confused with someone else?

Your Welcome and it should be soon, just a little more work on the foramt and it should be done

Well depends on what you mean by operational performace

Some field mods were never tested

Well they were tested by the pilots in the filed, but not official test was done to record the results

Those types of operational things are very hard to come by, and the few that are aval are typicall sparce on details

Thus most of the real world data used is the manufature testing and acceptance testing done by the airforce who recived the product

Thanks in advance for that!

I've always operated under the premise in the game that the latest model Bf.109s were inferior to their earlier G counterparts (removed cannon ammo counter, possibility of poor fuel quality, etc.). It'd just be interesting to see how they stack up compared to the real thing.

This is actually very important toward historical accuracy and improvement of the modelling. I desire to give at least moral support to your efforts.

We need numbers and graphs for comparision across creators, communities, and between IL-2 and historical data. IL-2 can be a flight simulation in the hands of someone who is dedicated to that aspect. Yes, many only want a game to play, but the historical characteristics obviously draw many people to have a continued interest in IL-2.

Reply to Harper: Though I appreciate your concern for the well being of AAA, Monguse is already very much aware of the work of ACE OF ACES in the data publication.

Ace and I chat all the time, no worries.

The main idea on these reports to so EVERYONE is on the same page.

Fascinating stuff here.

Cannot wait for comparison to real world numbers.

I have the feeling that some of these may be quite disturbing.

Thanks ACE for your efforts.
