Cant find chunk? wats this all about?
#1

Heya guys, just a quick tech question for ya's.

In game i get a good few errors, here's just a few:

Cant find Chunk 'Nullpart_DO'
Cant find Chunk 'Wire_DO'

Java.IO.EOFException

after the java one i get a whole lot of rubbish after it.

Would this be a cause of stuttering? and what does all this mean??

Helrza, yes I do think it ia a major cause to stuttering.

When the game can not finde this bits and pieces, it laggs when searching and has to output error messages.

I have in some occations succeeded to eliminate some of this errors by copying the searched "chunk" from one modded aircrafts folder in to the folder for the aircraft missing it.

I am not sure what this "chunks" are, but I assume it is "aircraft-parts" (3D-objects) needed to patch together the whole AC in the game, or more presice:

NOT deeded, but are called/summoned by default by the damage function in the game program code when the AC crash.

If this is the fact, I hope the modders could take the job checking whether or not their AC produce this sort of error before finaly launching the AC as a valid mod.
...that be just applying this objects in the folder for the actual AC, to be available for the creation and/or damage function when running the game.

By the way, I think this apply to other objects in the game to, like when you start a mission and the error like this is beeing listed in the log.lst file, somthing is missing...

##### House without collision (3do/Tree/Tree2.sim)
##### House without collision (3do/Buildings/Port/Floor/live.sim)

I think, with mods, this missing chunk is worse (more of it), but I used to see this even with stock unmodded game.
The "house without collision" definitely dates back even to FB+AEP, and occurs on certain maps.
