Please Help with Conf ini
#1

Heya All. I just got rid of my 8800GTS 512s in SLI and got a 4870 as a stop grade for my future 5870/gtx480. Since I am using ATi for the first time in this sim life, in fact in my life, I would like some one make me Open GL section of conf.ini at the highest settings for ATi. I will let the person that knows the conf much better than me, so I do not screw it up.

BTW, this is a 1GB version of the card pushing a 24 inch 1080P HD monitor.

Thank you very much.

Hey GP,

It's quite simple.

Step 1: Get the box the ATI card came in.
Step 2: Put your ATI card in the box.
Step 3: Take it back to the store.
Step 4: Put your Nvidia card back into your system.
Step 5: Start your game and enjoy the richness that only an Nvidia card can truly deliver.

Haha, you gave me a few laughs! Well, I really want to enjoy flying while I am on ATi.... Btw, I just cannot get my cards back, as I donated them to my school as a part of a 400 dollar folding rig that I built with my good friend of mine. He donated one of his cards to me, so I had a computer to play with, plus I pursuaded him that he did not need a crossfire of 4870's driving a widescreen 19' inch monitor.

I saw something at one point in time on Mission4today about how to setup an ATI to work with IL2. In order to get ATI to run in perfect mode takes some trial and error. ATI doesn't like OpenGL as much as Nvidia.

thats why i just put my money in to duel gtx260s. the superclocked versions are now $200. I bought 2 and a 750w psu. this setup sould push my sli board for atleast a one or two years before I have to look into updating my q6600 to a i7. but ofcoarse then I'll have to do a mobo and redo my liquid cooling then to. But the point is, if your going to upgrade, just get 260's. you dont need 480s or whatever the new quad cards are called. You already got a sli board right. Dual gtx260s are going to dim the lights on my whole block. my neighbors are going to know when I'm gaming.

I get all this in the mail monday, I will tell you how it works out. my total bill is $550usd. My current fps in black death with vert sync ON is avg48. I'll post my MW2 and BC2 results also. my current fps are bout 35-40 in both. This is going to be an upgrade from dual 9500gt to SLI gtx260's. I'm on a p5n-d board w/ a q6600 quad (OCed to 3.2ghz on liquid). I run IL-2 at 1600x900 (60mhz), in split screen sli (runs better then alt screen sli cuz il-2 isnt made for sli). Its like running each card at a rez of 800x450. And rez has a big inpact on fps. I can loxwer to 1280x720 and gain 25 fps in most games. MW2 and BC2 dont run split frame sli. but AFR(true SLI) is what their made for.

Thank you so much for that conf. ini. I have a Q for ya. So this game plays on that card very well, or there could be some issues?

Thanks you again.

BTW. Davis, Great cards you got there, but to be honest, they are a bit overpriced and do not quite match the price to performance ratio. If this is the only game you play, you will rock ass, but the problem with this engine that it does not natively support SLI or Crossfire. I, on the other hand play a lot of variety, ranging from GTA 4, to IL2, to Crysis, to Team fortress 2. So it is just a matter who is a slight fanboi lol. I used to love nvidia, until my friend persuaded me to try his cards out, I was shocked.

I have an issue...

When I start playing game, the menu looks like it is trying to bold the letters too much so they are just rectangles... I have CCC with 10.3 drivers.

Its not your system but the latest ATI Drivers are not compatible so you get these texts. They are sometime going to include IL2 in a future but we still looking for those drivers. there is a fix for it, sorry I dont use it but if you go to Ultra or/and 1C might find the fix.
My game runs really well with my ATI 4870. Big Grin

So how are you playing this game?

After the first launch fire your guns or crash any thing like that and normal text begins. Its a royal pain in the arse but the fix doesn't help my game. Also you can use ATI Catalyst Drivers v9.10 and I think Text is normal in those drivers. :???:

ooh, that is a little on the back end side. Thanks for your tips, I might be just be collecting my dedicated computer funds for a gtx470 or gtx480. I am really torn between ATi and Nvidia right now for performance per price ratio. I am waiting for BOB SOW so I will see some tesselation results.
