Are you running on VISTA?

As This happened to me, I put 4.08M on then 4.09M then CRASH, so I re-installed using recompensed solution then It work FINE,

SO Just re-install it,

Aurora, I see from other of your posts, that you may have an older computer with older sound card/board. (you have 7800GS AGP video for example) There are some issues with the 4.09m patch and older sound systems. What you can try, is save two files from the 4.08m game:

mg_snd.dll
mg_snd_sse.dll

and after patching to 4.09m, put those saved 4.08m files in, overwriting the 4.09m ones.
See if that gets it working.

I remember someone else here having the same issue and i pointed them to the files after someone else helped me out with it on another site.

I did ask if it was possible to make the solution to this common issue a sticky, would save alot of people headaches and many more posts also.

So how about it admins?? a sticky featuring this issue and the solution would make sense to me Smile

I ask again, can we please have a sticky to inform people how to easily resolve this issue?[Image: c569b3b2bcc634795c0e5260e86c3927.gif]

Well, I've given that answer to a few people on various mod forums. I think I first saw this problem and solution on the 1CMaddox forum, soon after the 4.09m patch came out. It happened on my dedicated server, which is an old AMD board. You'll find a couple of threads in the Dedicated Server topics about it.

Cnopicilin is right, though, it is not very common, and only affects people with older sound hardware.

Besides...nobody reads stickies anyhow...or instructions for that matter.
