Has anyone installed Kevinp's Road Plate Mod in HSFX 4.1?
#1

HI all,

I want to add Kevinp's Road Plate Mod to my HSFX 4.1 install, but can't seem to make it work. I spoke with Kevinp, and he gave me some ideas (he does not use HSFX himself), but I have had no luck getting it to work. I tried adding it to a MODS folder and putting the correct lines in the static.ini in the Files folder in HSFX. I also tried adding it to the JGSME folder and activating it in the JGSME application, again with the correct lines in the static.ini in the Files folder. I have had no luck with either of these approaches.

Have I missed a step, or is there another method I should try, or is it just not possible to get this mod to work in HSFX? Thanks!

Isn't it all ready in HSFX under "Objects" ?

Hi madcat,

Not that I've seen. If it is I will feel really stupid. Besides, I think kevinp would have told me if it was when I spoke with him.

I tried switching all my mods off and found Road Plate Mod was still there in FMB, so it is in HSFX.

Look up under "Objects" (not "Stationary Objects") numbers "1553" to "1635" and that should be all the Road Plate Objects. They wont show up in the little 3D view window like all other objects, you have to place them on the map and zoom right in to see them.

PS; do you have the latest HSFX patch 4.11? I don't know if that would help or not.

Hi Madcat,

I have 4.1 and my objects list only goes up to 1524. I didn't install 4.11 because I am primarilly an offline player and I thought 4.11 was just for online play. The road plate mod might have been added to 4.11, but I don't see anything about it in the 4.11 thread at the 242 site. Probably can't hurt to download and install it. I'll try it and get back to you.

Okay, downloading HSFX 4.11 did not help. Madcat, what type of objects do you have after 1524?

1. Place the "Roads_KDP" folder into the MODS folder of your game.
The path should look like this - C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\Roads_KDP

2. Find your static.ini files

There will be one in files\com\maddox\il2\objects

There may be another copy in Mods\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects -- if not copy the file from files\com\maddox\il2\objects to here.

Copy the insertini.txt into the end of the static.ini file in Mods\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects

The game will use the static.ini in Mods and ignore the original version in files\com\maddox\il2\objects

Hi asheshouse,

I've done this, but it still does not work. But now that I look at it my "Mods" folder is in all caps. I don't think changing this will make a diffrence as other mods I have in the Mods folder are working, but I'll switch it and see what happens.

Well, that didn't work.

If I have the Roads Plates folder in the Mods folder, and the static.ini in the correct folder under Mods/STD/com/maddox/il2/objects, with the correct lines added at the end of it, what else might be keeping it from working?

You need Full Mission Builder Plus to access the plate objects. Same to access things like airfield plates

Get it here:(The link is inoperative)
All you do is drop the FMB folder into your Mods folder. No txt edits to do.

You will see that the number of objects increases when you install this.
The order of the objects is as listed in static.ini, so the last ones are the road plates.

I can also access them if I switch to FMB Map Editing mode, but FMB+ is what you want for normal mission building use.

Thanks Ashes! That did it.

Madcat was right, they were already in there, I just did not have FMB Full included in the Mods folder.

Thanks again to both of you for your help.
