#1

This is part of a skinpack I am making for my new Spitfire MkIX mod, which is based on the MkVIII model.

I'm still making the skins, so any comments, suggestions or skin requests would be welcome. The skins themselves are based on a template for the MkXII by Nightshifter and I'm new to skinning, but I hope people will like them Smile

If you have any requests for skins to be included in the pack please provide a picture or description of the aircraft in question and a description of the colors if the picture is in black and white.

Thanks for the comments Smile

Since nobody has made any requests, does anybody have any links that might provide good references for making skins?

I don't really want to do a big pack of Green-Grey Spitfires with Sky noses and fuselage bands, but there doesn't seem to be many other choices as far as markings go, and the ones I have shown are the most interesting skins I have made so far Sad

David...very nice, VERY nice. Thing is , though, you have to give us some grey and green schemes, that's what most Mark 9's used. Mix it up, some Canadian units, Czech, U.S.A.F......etc. I know thet've all been done for the 9, but not for YOUR 9. And I know I won't be using any other once it comes out.

By the way, I meant U.S.A.A.F, of course.

Hey, there's a request. The American units that flew Spits in the Med. A couple of those would be great. And they aren't grey and green!

Dave, outstanding work on those skins. And, of course, on the airplane it's self. I see you finally solved that tailwheel problem you were having with it. I hope we will be seeing this soon.

The problem with the tailwheel was overcome a long time ago, in fact very little has changed about the aircraft model itself for several months now. What was holding back release was that I have been very busy with University and the model needs classfiles that use the MkVIII cockpit and a MkIX FM with a fixed tailwheel. No such classfiles exist, and attempts to create workarounds such trying to get the existing MkIX classfiles to use a renamed MkVIII cockpit caused more problems than they solved. The E wing was also a problem because the MkIXe classfiles have a different naming convention for the guns than the E wing taken from the MkXIVe.

Monguse has very kindly offered to create new slot classfiles and FMs for this mod, so the problems should be a thing of the past now. The mod itself is going to be in the next HSFX pack, but may be released before that as a standalone mod once the classfiles and FMs are finished, and I'm busy making skins in the meanwhile.

Some new blank skins for the Israeli and Eygptian airforces. I have also reworked the panel lines for the cowling and spinner to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the template (previously they were just taken from the MkVIII Void) and fixed a few issues like the tailwheel doors still being marked on one of the layers even though I had removed their panel lines, so I'm working on bringing all the older skins up to the new standard.

If anyone has any suggestions for other airforces blank skins that might be useful please feel free to ask.
