Importing into IL2...
#1

Hello guys, I am currently in the process of making an F-104 Starfighter,
and i'm at the point of starting to import it into IL2.
(I stopped using the F9, for it was too much work  )
So, I need to know how to import- I am clueless as to how to do this. Tongue

Pic Smile :

I did that all in one day, i'm still working on it.
So... Yeah. Any help would be appericiated.

They look better now. (Fixed it earlier today) Smile

EDIT:

I added some pics of what i've added, improved, etc.

I added the rear landing gear covers, and made the wings a wee bit thinner.

Din't someone done that, or is my memory wrong. Just had an unexplainable DEJA VU episode.
May be I 'm just tired...

Yes, by making a franken from panther.

"Yes, it's very nice. But we need a plane for bombing, strafing, assault and battery,
interception, ground support and reconnaissance. Not just a fairweather fighter."

I'd say you've quite a way to go yet.

The 3D model needs to be complete and fully textured before you consider importing.
I think you need to do a little more work on the model first.
Have you compared it with photos of the real thing?
You are using way too many polys on the fuselage for example, and yet still it does not look exactly right because you have not "smoothed" the surfaces. Lots of important details missing.

Are you working "by eye" or with blueprints setup in your modelling software?
If you look at the plan Fisneaky has provided you can see that the sides of the fuselage should be slightly curved on plan.
If you overlay your model on the plan they should line up closely.
At the moment there is significant variation between the plan and the model.

Introduce more vertices where you need them, but reduce them where you don't.

... Well, this is my first real 3d model. And i don't exactly know how to smooth, and yes, i am working by my eye. (which aren't the best,
I might add  ) I've looked for smoothing tutorials for Blender, and can't find any. Unless I'm not searching the right thing. of course.,
Also, Since Sani is working on a Huey, i decided to make a MH-53 Pave Low. (Just for the fun of it) Tongue
Lol, looks better than my F-104, too. Confusedhock: I'm looking at a texturing tutorial right now, so i might add pics of it. Smile

Sorry for posting three times in a row,
But what about importing ground vehicles?
I found a few good 3d models on the Internet, and maybe that would be better
than making a whole flyable plane. Tongue
