Hello all,

I didn't see anything relating to this here so i thought I'd share it. DT has a new update out: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=12568. The update includes a clarification of the nature of the delay that 4.10 has suffered. Apparently, Maddox Games has released some development tools to DT which should facilitate faster patch releases in the future but has resulted in a delay to 4.10 due to setup and training with the new tools. They also state that the delay is not due to any major bugs in the new patch. There is also a video showing a selection of upgrades included in 4.10. Some surprises include a previously un-announced (for 4.10) facelift to the Bf110G-2, a new bomb-rack for the Bf109 series and some of the first footage of the US Bat glide bomb in action. Other aircraft featured in the video include the I-15bis, CW-21, G.55, R-5, and facelifted Ju88A.

I am amazed by every single update so far from TD. And considering how spoiled those of us who use mods are already, I'm sure the vanilla IL2: 46 guys are going NUTZ!!!

As it is, I am wondering how long it will take for the mod pack creators to come out with versions of their creations that are compatible with 4.10? As it is, I will do what I did when 4.09 came out, one vanilla install patched to the latest version, and a separate modded install.

New guided weapons

In patch 4.10 we also plan to introduce some more guided weapons: German Fritz-X, Hs 293, US Razon & Bat which:

- can be aimed & dropped like normal bombs
- can be guided like X-4 missile with bombsight keys (except the Bat)
- can be used by human and AI

So 4.10 is going to have fire and forget weapons?

In that the BAT was the first true predecessor to the cruise missile

With it's active radar to find and auto adjust its trajectory/path to track the target

Which opens up a whole new world for IL2

In that with such code in place

It means we could have air to air auto tracking missiles too

I can already do Surface to Air missile warfare with the X-4 as well as Anti-Bomber air to air.
