What could I say..? He is very well-preserved. Glad they found him, finally he may rest in peace as they bury him. Bit creepy, though.

Thanks for sharing the link. I didn't know about that website. The article says the fight occurred near Polyarnyi Krug and that is about halfway between Murmansk and Archangelsk. You can probably find it on the MODS Archangelsk map.

Freakin hell thats amazing and kinda sad as well.
Look at his hands. They are up to his face to protect him self from the crash. Very, very, very sad and disturbing. Made me think of our neighbor that just died who was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He went crazy and started re-living what he had been through(liberating death camps). I hope this is a lesson to everybody that war is not a great thing.
RIP to everybody that has died in any war.

His feet are missing but everything else is perfect condition. And the gore where his feet were attached look like straw...

The preservation is actually a little odd. What makes me a teeny bit suspicious is the pale skin. Bog bodies generally become stained in an earthy colour. Granted this is usually after hundreds if not thousands of years, but is nearly seventy years small enough to preserve natural skin tones? I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, but bear in mind there have been other miraculously preserved finds in recent years too.
Sad, but real. Sometimes reality stares at you in the face and changes you...
May he rest in peace. I hope they made a nice funeral for him with respect.
