need help with this one, i was playing a fun game when my fun was ended, i was coming in for a landing with my gotha 229, when outta no where a plane apeared in front of me, i went in for a kill, my engines were 0% i rose then to 24% then, once i hit the throttle both engines caught on fire! this happens with all me 262's and most other jets.
Its not a problem with any mods or the game, it's just how the jet engines were designed. IL-2's realism ftl....
well, as far as i know, il-2 has always had this feature. In difficulty settings it might be complex engine management, maybe turn it off and see if it happens.
If you weren't gentle enough with the throttle, they might. It was the first jet engines, they weren't reliable at all.
In short : EASY does IT

The jumo 004 B is very fragile (for Me-262, Ar-234B),for the others, this is the same thing.
1) When you turn on the engines, don't push too fast when you're under 6000rpm (particularity of Jumo 004B) because engines can burn easily.
2) When you fly higher than 6km of height, don't push too fast because the engines could turn off, regulator is very fragile over this altitude.
3) Don't pull too fast, regulator decreases feul flow and you can stop engines (wherever you are).
4) If your engine(s) is (are) off when you fly:
-Throttle : 10% (minimum, because if you push when throttle is very low, they can burn and you must land very quickly to avoid explosion)
-Speed : 310kph, 200mph (if you fly under this speed, the air that enters into the engine is not sufficient)
-Height : under 3km (if you fly over this height, the air that enters into the engine is not sufficient)
Now, you're ready for your first flight on the Me-262, you have 30 minutes to learn, don't be losed when you'll be in the air.
