Update 2010-06-18
#1

Good Morning Gents,

my UP worked fine so far. The last Update worked fine as well.

Yesterday and this morning I tried to make an Update (2010-06-18) of UP incl. new Maps etc.. using "UltraPack Update&Restore"
Even if I've got my IL-2 on Drive F:\... and with XP - I'm receiving this Last Picture and it just won't work. "Code 12" and so on and after "300 seconds" no connections.... with or without Firewall...
And I'm doing it as an admin....as I said, it worked before without a problem! :-?

Any Idea?

Thank you very much in advance!

Jambo

P.S. Thats my menu.. and it stops for about 300 seconds, then next message and so on, and so on.... for hours:

I think it takes hours, or mine did anyway. It may be best to just leave it for a day and then come back and see if it's done. I'm not sure though, I think the updater can be quite unstable.

I had that problem with the upupdater recently myself. I shut down IL2 and wanted to do an update but the same thing happened to me. End of the matter was, my game hadn't shut down properly and the IL2FB.exe process was still running in the background. After killing it (through the process manager) the updater worked fine again.

One of those twighlight zone situations. Your issue is probably caused by something else but, you never know....

I had the update running for hours and after 30 unsuccessful attempts it just finished.

Hi Folks!

A few days ago I used the updater for UP 2.01 for the first time and get a problem. To start the game in HSFX-mod no problem, in UP-mod it crasht at 60%. I changed the buttons-file, I shut down step by step all mods, no chance. In HSFX-mode it works proper, a little bit funny?!
Anyone an idea, please?

Are you sure it's not the buttons? Wink

If you disable the MODS folder, does it fix the 60% CTD?

I just went through this. Got bored with the update thingy so I uninstalled IL2 and did a careful reinstall. What I found was after installing 2.01 everything worked fine, it choked on the Mods folder of the Mod activator, what cured it was replacing the buttons file in the MODS folder which I found here

D:\Games\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\STD\gui\game

I put in the new buttons file and everything worked fine.

Hi 8FS_Bulau!
I replaced the old buttons-files with the new, but it doesn`t work. I closed every mod in JSGME some result. How can I disable Mods-folder? I`m not such an expert in computer. The question for me is, why does it work in HSFX and not in UP?

Thx for your answer!

You can disable your mods folder by putting a ' - ' in front of it like this:
-MODS
compared to
MODS

The HSFX in UP2.01 has its own, separate folder, which takes the place of the Files folder, and has all the .ini files and buttons in there for HSFX. When you run the switcher, it renames your Files folder to deactivate it, and the HSFX folder takes over.

So something is pooched in your UP 2.01 Files folder, (or your MODS folder)
If you deactivate the MODS folder, as philip.ed showed, and the 60% CTD goes away, then that would indicate the problem is in the MODS folder.

If you're going to use the MODS folder in UP 2.01, you need to copy the folders:
com
gui
i18n

from the Files folder into the \MODS\STD folder.

Hi 8FS_Bulau!
That`s the problem. I have a Mods-folder with STD in it. That`s why I don`t understand that UP doesn`t work. I have there the latest buttons-file, I have no other buttons-file in gui-game -folder. I switched a few times between UP and HSFX, no results.
No idea why. Idea Idea Idea

Check your Files folder for a buttons file as well Wink
