ATI Catalyst Display Driver versions 10.7 and 10.9 IL-2 enthusiasts report that these fix all their problems.

These driver and later ones should fix the driver caused anomalies in IL-2.

I can not guarantee that it will fix things for you, but reports look good so far.

I felt that it would be very appropriate to thank AKA_Coastie for starting a topic at the Ubisoft website in search of ATI (now AMD) driver fixes for IL-2. The community responded with requests to AMD that they work on the bugs that their ATI drivers have had with IL-2 for quite a while. The result was that AMD released a series of drivers in a fairly short period of time. The Catalyst 10.7 seems to have resolved all the issues with almost everyone.

More reports about this Catalyst 10.7 reveal that AMD finally seems to have gotten the bugs out their ATI drivers for IL-2.

Running the new 10.7 in crossfire 2 x 5870, everything runs fine no blocky text no shutters. Finally a driver that works for IL2.

Any particular driver will have its limitations on compatibility with VGAs. How far into the past can this driver go with graphic cards? I don't know. Probably few people visiting this website know.

It's for the ATI user to do some research at the AMD/ATI website to discover compatibility.

If anyone does know how far into the past this driver will be compatible, then please share with us.

So far, the latest Catalyst 10.7 is not only fixing the driver anomalies. People are saying that IL-2 looks better, too.

Only a couple guys had problems and that could be because of corrupt file download of the driver.

AMD Catalyst 10.9 for ATI has been tested and looks good to go for IL-2.

Good Evening,
On a first day's impression, the Ati 10.11 driver looks good to go as well with IL-2, I chose the Win XP 32 Bit version with only the driver and the Catalyst suite option, not the "big" pack. I run an Ati HD 5770..But other users may verify my impression.
