I don't think this is possible in IL-2...it is one or the other, but not both for the same plane.

but it could be possible: use G for the water gears and use the manual gear bind for landing gears or vice versa

It's not that...I can't recall where I read this, maybe on the SAS forum. The problem is not with making things like gear, it is that the sim handles seaplanes differently than land planes when it comes to contact with the water or contact with land.

I would have to search around to try to find that thread again.
