Up seems to install ok, but doesn't actually show...

Basically just like the tital says. I started from scratch on this one...

1. fresh install the game via dvd (not downloaded)
2. patched to 4.08
3. patched to 4.09
4. downloaded UP 2.01 from http://ultrapack.il2war.com/index.php?topic=1536.0 I downloaded from mirror 3 on the first bunch on that page, so its not a torrent (i don't have any torrent programs)
5. I ended up with the client .exe, data2.cab,data3.cab all in my downloads file.
6. Ran the client, made sure it was going to the right location of where the game was (Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/il2 ect ect.). Straight away, it unpacked about 8 different files into the downloads file. things like a bunch of files that read "setup", one that says "engine 32" ect.
7. It looked like it was Installing ok, and it finished without any problems, trouble is when i play it, its still stuck on 4.09 with no extras.
8. I ran the updater/restore thing where it just sat there and downloaded about 4 gigs of my bandwidth before i gave up. there were about 20 files of fb_hfx3do01, 02, 03 ect. all being placed into the game's directory as it downloaded. shouldn't have all that been installed when i ran the client?

Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks for your time.

The 3 part download you got is the 2.01 patch, which is supposed to go overtop of UP 2.0n, which is why it didn't work.

However, the Updater will fix that, and in fact, was probably trying to by downloading what was missing, when you terminated. If you want, you could download the FULL UP 2.01, which is nine parts...scroll down further on that same page...

Or, run the updater again, and let it finish. Either way, you are going to end up downloading the full thing.

Thanks mate, that would make sense. Luckily the updater resumes from where i stopped it rather than starting over everytime i fire it up. that would suck.

I kinda figured the updater was downloading all the info from the start, what i didn't know was it was data that i hadn't recieved already. Just makin sure. Thanks again.
