Any tutorial on laying bridges?

Had my first attempt today and just fumbled uselessly around.

Any help appreciated.

First of all, the bridges can only be set over water at sea level. Select the type bridge you want, place it on the map - this part can be a bit tricky, it seems that the "point" you choose is where the road meets the bridge incline, and must be place on a point where two black grid lines on the map intersect. Use the arrow keys to rotate (only at 45 degree angles), then Page Up to extend the bridge over the water.

Hope that helps you, gl with your bridges.

Something I find useful is setting the icon size to maximum (16?). This helps in selecting bridges once they are on the map. The selection point isn't where you'd expect it to be.

At present, I have roads which run across rivers. Should I remove those pieces of road before installing the bridge? Or keep them in place and put the bridge on top of the road section?

G'day I also would like to know about bridges,
I can delete bridges and they are gone when I hit play in FMB BUT when I delete bridges, save and then go to multiplay to see if they are gone, I find they all come back !!
I HATE BRIDGES !!!!!!! they are killing my water skiing from the carrier maps along the rivers !! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Here are notes that I have for placing bridges...

In your Conf.ini file's [HOTKEY BUILDER] section paste the following lines:

Shift Numpad-4=bridge left
shift Numpad-6=bridge right
shift Numpad-8=bridge offset +
shift Numpad-2=bridge offset -

------------------------------------------------
After placing the bridge where you want it in your unlocked FMB map, use the arrow keys on the keyboard numberpad....

Shift+Arrow Right = bridge right
Shift+Arrow Left = bridge left
Shift+Arrow UP = bridge offset +
Shift+Arrow Down = bridge offset -

Use Page UP/Down keys to insert/delete extra sections of bridge.

Bridge Left rotates counter-clockwise.
Bridge Right rotates clockwise.

Offset (+ or -) moves on axis.

Zoom in close to work with the bridge easier.
To select a bridge, the select point is to the left of center along the bridge.
