Hsfx or UltraPack?

Read what I said again with an open mind..

My point is there are 'potential' stability problems due to less time spent checking compatibility..

As in a lot of mods added at the last min..

But even without that..

There is still the issue of them choosing mods for the user..

Freddy’s cockpits are a perfect example of that.

LOL

Typical attack the messenger tactics..

Folks read where I was the one that went out of my way to clear up the 'no longer supports including HSFX' and than realise that it is Dakpilot who is making wide ranging and blatant claims

Right on the money Dak, I have been going through my UP 2.1 upload with a fine toothed comb and discovered this:

Totally stable, no CTDs, no studders
has original P-47/P-51 cockpits (with the ability to download freddys pits if you prefer them, like any pack with a mod file)
still supports HSFX with the handy updater and fault check to make sure you have seamless play

IMHO UP and HSFX are both great, and the modders who have done each deserve accolades instead of banter designed to sell any of their work short. Hows about letting the masses deside what they want in a mod program and stop the one sided cajoling?

in conclusion, like stated earlier, UP and HSFX have brought to the table more immersion to the game PERIOD HSFX, as with UP have had little flaws, but the modders who came up with these packs are working on them constantly (all for free, might I add) so I think we should lay off all the finger pointing, drop the already dead issues, and just get back to being thankful to these artists of modding and show our appreciation by not being so heavy handed on their work, after all they did it all for us
So to answer Hsfx or UltrPack....either way you go, your going to enjoy the game more than in its vanilla form!!!

disclaimer: THIS POST IS NOT INTENDED TO BE OFFENSIVE TO ANY ONE IN PARTICULAR, SO HATEFUL PMING WILL NOT BE NECESSARY, I AM JUST IN IT FOR THE GAME

Really?

Not sure who to belive here?

But I think I will have to take HaDeS's word over yours on this one..

Sorry..

In that HaDeS himself told Neil that he would look into a way to fix the problem with Freddy's cockpits in a thread orginally called..

How to disable updated p47 cockpits in up2.1

NOTE that is with regars to UP 2.1

Here is the link

http://ultrapack.il2war.com/index.php/topic,2494.0.html

HaDeS never provided any help in that thread..

But Neil did figure out a way to disable Freddy's cockpits by extracting the default cockpits from a stock SFS file creating his own mod that replaces Freddies cockpits that were included as part of UP2.1..

Something a savvy modder could do, but not all..

All in all this just highlights what I said..

That being how HARD it is to remove a mod that UP decided you must have Wink

Nor I you George!

Just making sure the folks here get the most accurate info I can provide..

And if that means correcting something you said that was inaccurte..

Please don't take it personal!

The truth/facts should never be taken that way!

OK back on topic chaps. The conclusion is that it's all down to choice. I had stock P-47 cockpits in my UP 2.01 install but then maybe there are different versions...

either-way, no biggy if the cockpits can be removed and it wouldn't push me away from the pack.
I solely use UP over HSFX because I can get the .303 tracer mod to work. Each to his own Big Grin

You can download either one UP has HSFX included in it but I have both on my pc it save switching things around I also use both as they each have nice qualities so the choice is yours but I personally could not decide so I loaded both.

This is the only natural course of action, I couldn't make my mind up either way, I just happen to have an easier time with UP during the first install is really the only reason I made it my main folder, but since then I just kept adding mod after mod after mod, then came the helicopters, now the Vietnam era is a work in progress from the SAS gang, well you get the point, plus the fact that UP has HSFX also, was a contributing factor, I use to fly regularly online and there are different online campaigns, so UP was more out of necessity than anything, with the HSFX, at the time, don't know about now, you could only fly the SOEW campaigns, this may have changed. For someone starting out though you may wanna try both and make your own decision. Good Hunting

Bingo!

And I think most would agree that decision should be based on all the info..

The good and the bad!

So even though UP 'includes' HSFX you still have a seperate stand alone install of HSFX?

If so..

Why?

I thought it was simple as pie to run HSFX from UP?

Me personally I have every version of UP and HSFX insalled on my PC..

But that is for FM testing purposes..

What is the 'reason' you don't use the HSFX within UP?

PS you said 4 installs but only listed 2, what are the other 2?

But SAS does not have a 'pak' they just deal in making mods and taking other peoples mods and making changes to them and or re-packaging them..

Maybe he has the C6 mod and a vanillia?

Huh? The post was about different installs, not mod packs, you know.
