Yes i've searched but can't find a simple, basic answer. Is this, are these, for On-line mainly?

Yes mainly online , Moving dogfight server .

You can add AI flights in a dogfight mission, and are able to land and refuel/re-arm among other things .

Agreed. But it might be handy offline as well. Zuti's Moving DF mod comes as an answer to any mission builder's prayer.
It gives you completely new ways to design missions, including RADAR, Rearm, Refuel & Repair and "base capturing", to name just a few and, the foremost of course,
it blends / merges CoOp and DogFights into one.

I like the "base capturing" a lot, done a mission, settled in Korea, where you have to defend your base from closing enemy ground troops. Destroy your own bridges,
or try to halt enemy spearheads. Get up and protect the base from incoming enemy A/C, or go searching for a second enemy column, down in the jungle. The choice is yours.

But never forget, once the enemy overruns your place, they occupy it and everything on it, including AAA. And hopefully you had set up another HomeBase nearby, to start from, to retake your first base.
The duration of this mission is about one and a half hours! If your crate gets "Franked", you're able to respawn, as well as you are free in letting fresh AI waves appear (set in FMB).

That way you might be able to recreate whole Air 2 Air & Air 2 Ground battles in Il-2 in a single stroke, without diverting the whole thing onto several missions.
Let's say, like the battle of Kursk ( if your system permits and then still scaled down... ).

Thanks to ZUTI and his effort, Il-2, 'though becoming of age, has become even more interesting! Big Grin
