Hi , im new to the forum (and the game) therefore i need a little help here , i want to ask it there are a must have mods or mod packs i should download before i start with the game ?
my game version is 1946 Steam

Ok ;o)

First you have to download and install a MOD Pack (I'm playing with HSFX 4.11) Ultrapack is not bad.
When it will be finished, you will just have to download and install Mods that you want to play with (new planes, new effects...)

Don't forget, to test your game at each step, and to BACK UP your files ;o)
Many times I didn't back up my files, so I had to reinstall...it was frustrating...
What I suggest, follow Newbie guide, when you will have installed the MOD pack that you want, test it and back up your UBISOFT FILE (I'm using an external drive to do it).

After that you will have to search on this site which mod you want to play...

You don't have to have a mod pack, if you are mainly looking to play offline then use a custom install.

oh, i want to play online but first i want the game to look bit better and than start to learn how to fly a prop plane , i think i've found what i was looking for now and the first part is done now the hard bit
i think i'll search the forums for the planes that are optimum between easy ish handling and capabilities...

1-4.08m
2-4.09m
3-Ultrapack 2.01
4-352 Cross Channel Map
5-Plutonium max Effects Mod

thats actually very close to what i've now, i got :
patch 4.09 than
1. UP 2.01
2. plutonium maximum effects
3. Charly Golf effect mod with bombbaydoors
4. cinema fx (fireball & mid air smoke)
5. distant sound mod (without GUI folder)
6.PAL mini map
7.vp_nomapframe
8.ecran wide

i've noticed you wrote patch 4.08 than 4.09 , does that mean i'll need to reinstall game ? (i didn't install the first one)
