HSFX "Update & Restore" Tool?
#1

I suspect like many of you I have an install of HSFX & UP & backups too, well yesterday for reasons that aren't important, I had to use UP's extra function of" Update & Restore", which works pretty easily to fix a system botched up by yours truly. While idly watching it do its work I wondered if HSFX had such a tool,if so how I had missed it? I then wondered if the UP tool could be directed if need be to do a Update & Restore on my HSFX install.Probably not I reasoned as the Files on each one is substantially different...
I figured one of the game gurus might have the answers...

None that I'm aware of.

For the most part HSFX is Jinxx, err I mean, idiot proof. Tongue

Because HSFX doesn't bother with switching back and forth between versions and is packaged with "ONLY" compatible mods, you really *can't screw it up if you follow the install instructions to the letter.

With pretty much every mod capable of running from the JSGME, with very few exceptions, you really can't screw up your game.
Even add-on planes can be run from the JSGME.

S!

*Barring a bad download.

Use the UP auto restorer Tongue
ULTRAPACK 2.01 forum Wrote:Now the auto-updater also works for the HSFX installation! A nice feature that we hope all the HSFX and SEOW players will enjoy!. When you click on the UP auto-update icon it automatically deactivates any activated addons in JSGME and switch the version to UP (if HSFX is activated) and then updates also the HSFX if needed.

Just go HERE

Thanks...so if I understand this correctly I point the Update & Install tool at my HSFX & it knows the difference...that's handy.
BTW...I've proven more times than you can imagine how to screw up Mods...this last time in UP (& HSFX) something I did deactivated the catapult launch...it was prob'ly something I did in JSGME ( the Carrier Takeoff mod has caused problems me in the past ,freezing the game ...)but this time I had no way of knowing what happened & thought it wiser to save everything & go back to a cleaned up install...We'll see if that was a good idea afterall.
In any case many thanks for your input.
