Hi,

You must be asking me. I use HSFX 4.1 and I am in the process of adding nice mods to the JSGME Mods Enabler of my offline copy of it. I tried the HSFX 4.11 and my machine doesn't like it for some reason. The Frames Per Second dropped for some unknown reason. I went back to the HSFX 4.1 and am very happy with it. It loads in about 40 seconds from open to Main Menu. The content is huge. Adding things like maps and skins is quite easy once you try it one time.

I could have gotten a much larger mod pack than this, but for me that would mean too much stuff that I don't need. Some of it doesn't meet my quality standards.

Both are good. I am leaning towards UP as it has more included with it, and also I can get the .303's to have tracer-smokes; a mod which doesn't work in HSFX for some reason. That for me was really the deciding factor, as I fly a lot of early RAF birds

I think that there is an El Alamein, but you might have to access the Full Mission Builder to view it.

Have you tried the History Mods in the JSGME Mods Enabler yet?

yes the mod works if anyone else has the same problem on windows 7 go to compatility and set it to windows XP sp2. do this for the stock game when you first install it then do the same to JSGME. DLing 4.1 hopew it works hehe

I also have a problem with Hsfx 4, i downloaded part one and two as .exe because the rest were in some odd W0# format that was unreadable and whenever i attempt to install them they get to the end and tel me to insert a floppy disk? i have no floppy disk of course. what do?

Oh and many thanks to Skyomish who gave me advice that helped me get my game patched up despite various newbish mistakes on my part!

I've never heard of that one. I don't think that you are supposed to mix different download types.

Hello everyone. I'm new here and just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for providing such wonderful information. I've been playing IL2 and all of its incarnations for the past 10 years and never knew modifications existed for the game. I'm very confused to what exactly is available so, I have a lot to read. It is a little overwhelming. However, what brought me here was after watching a video on YouTube of a Korean War flight sim video that blew me away and the description of the video sated it had been created with IL2! So, after Googling a few phrases provided in the description and comments for the video, it brought me here.

What on Earth are these: "AAA"? "SAS"? and "Histomod"??? I am assuming they are modificaitons for IL2. Can anyone clarify this for me? I posted a link to the video on YouTube below. How do I get my game to look like this!?!?!? I would appreciate anyone's assistance. And thank you for your patience. This "modding" IL2 is all very new to me. Thank you!

AAA was the first modding site. Then it was taken down and it is now AllAircraftSimulations, the site you're on now.

SAS=Special Aircraft Service, another modding site. They are more active in mod making than AAS.



The video has been edited a bit, but with perfect settings, some mods and tweaking it is possible to get your game look like that.
Jafa is an expert in videos and sound mods.

And thank you for the warm welcome. Okay, I have the game updated to 4.09M and I read about all the different versions of "mod packs". I think I should choose the HSFX version of mod pack for ease of use. That is of paramount importance to me. I simply do not have the patience to mess around for hours with anything difficult to install. However, it appears that this software is only available via a Torrent?!??!?!?!?

Yes, but the torrent is fast, reliable and it automaticly continues the download after turning on your computer plus it is only one file=way easier.

UltraPack is just as easy to use, and it includes HSFX. It is quite a lot bigger than HSFX and some people don't like the FMs of some P-51s.
I have ultrapack, but HSFX is nice too.
