how can i make the sound of my machine guns louder without making the engine and the music louder?
My machine guns make a sound but the engine in just to loud, its not in proportion

Can somebody help me?

Have a look in your directory X:\IL-2......\Files\presets\sounds
There you find these weapons.MGun......prs files!
You can open these with your normal editor,
when you did this you see i.e.:

[common]
mode relobj pos
type mixer
numadj 1

[spl]
138 [color=#00BF00]

Are we talking about HSFX or UP?
There's a different!

Mh, I do have the original HSFX 4.11.

And there, in the Main-directory of HSFX is a directory \Files.
Under this one is a directory \presets and there you find \sounds with all these *.prs files.

If you got only UP2.01 and you switched to HSFX there - then it's a different matter!
They're no such directories there - and it's a bit more complicated to change sound.
I have to admit I never did it there, got the untouched UP and HSFX, waiting for IL-2 4.10 and all the updates!

At SAS and/or UP you find an explanation how to change your sound in the "Button"-file.
I'm not quite sure - but I think you need tools for doing this!?

I swear I have the original clean hsfx 4.1 not 4.11 or is that the same?

Did you install HSFX right from Scratch?
IL-2 - 4.08 - 4.09 - HSFX 4.1
You don't need 4.11 necessarily....

Strange thing really - have to think about it...

started from scratch patched to 4.09 and installed only hfsx mod 4.0 , 4.1

lets try this another way around.
How good do you know your PC?
What OS do you have? Windows XP or 7?
Where did you install your HSFX? On Drive C or else and in which directory?
Maybe you (not you - but your PC) have files and directories marked as hidden - and you can't see them?
You did download the HSFX files properly and the installation works fine - and HSFX is running?

I now me computer well.
Installed on the drive C I have windows Xp and I installed HFSX like its supposed to be.
I don't know anything about hidden files
