Well, as an Army man, I can tell you that the 2nd one is a better choice, but needs to get rid of the white on top of the nose.

The reasons for this are simple. Camouflage is meant to raise lower areas (darker) by the use of lighter colors and to lower higher (brighter) areas through the use of darker colors thereby effectively flattening the shape and enabling it to blend into the background. This is why we (soldiers) use darker colors on the raised areas of our faces such as the nose, ears, lower brow and chin and lighter colors on the lower areas such as eyes, under the neck, behind the ears etc.

The reason to get rid of the white strip on the nose is because of glare. You will almost never find a plane with a white patch like that on top of the nose. It would reflect too much sunlight back into the pilots eyes. That's why they are painted with a dark flat color such as OD, Dark Grey or Flat Black. The darker colors absorb the sunlight rather than reflecting it.

I can go into much more detail, but it would probably be easier to just post the TM.

The 2nd one, as it looks historical and looks very well done Tongue

Hi ;o)

The second one, because more dark = better camoufage (as Jinxx said), and more contrasted... Both are interesting and well done, I would choose the first for Winter maps ;o)
