After the last week's update session with BoB menus, I would have expected something more graphic/exiting.
I know, "I dont have the time, I'm tired", or what ever excuse we already heard here ... but is it so difficult to start the beta version and push on PRINT SCREEN on some ongoing air action ? I cant' believe that Oleg cannot delegate such an easy task to one of his guy's if he doesn't have the time himself.
Oleg Maddox response on C1 Forums Wrote:I put only these things that I think is important and these that I want. I can't do only things that you personally ask.
And I don't really "must do" it every week.
Lets you'll try to ask the same from other companies. For example Microsoft. I will be very interested what the aswer you will get. May be you would try?
And finally, you may see, that for most here this update was really interesting... If you don't use FMB for making the sim even more intersting that it is in basis, then you simply don't understand the importance of the FMB. This tool makes the game even more interesting and allow many users to get new scenarios, campaigns, single missions, to invite then to play online your friends in the new scenario you did, etc ... Just try to think about it.
Experience of Il-2 show that this tool was one of the most important features of the sim. And here I just show the new tool, that in comparison to Il-2 FMB has a lot more new features. that was implemented by the great accumulation of users suggestions from around the world in years.
This feature is one of the main features that lacks many other games of one season life.
Just try to think about it a bit wider....
This update is one of the most important comparing to such as the first video even shown....
PS. Without such a tool there probably wasn't possible a lot of the mods in Il-2...

These WIP updates are getting boring... or at least there is nothing new in visuals to display... Except dynamic lightning, there are no eye candies...
Clouds look better in Stalker: CoP mods than in BoB:SoW...
Oleg M. is genious... but he has a serious marketing problem.

Christ, that FMB is just brilliant. Mission-makers love Il-2's FMB, and this is far more extensive...just think of the logistics. It's easy to comment on the similarities, but look at Il-2; ten years down the line, still being developed, and still holding it's own in terms of FM, DM and even graphically. That is amazing, and something that will be extremely hard to improve upon.
All you need to do is just think of what SoW is bringing to the table to see how revolutionary it will be.
SoW, ten years down the line, could be something really special.
Oleg doesn't have to give us fancy pictures and videos every week to prove this.

No it isn't and I think there is only noseart for some american planes.

Nothing new ? !
Almost everything we saw in this update is new, and it's the first time we've seen SOW's mission editor.

You're half right. Actually, only some planes can show nosearts, but it IS possible to have them on the right side (or both sides). It just can't be chosen "in game", because it depends on the noseart file.
I made a nosearts pack once (you can find it in the Skins download section) and, by doing this, i've realized the way nosearts work.
Correct noseart format is 256x512 bitmap, that is, like two squares one above the other. The fact is, images in the upper half will appear on the LEFT side of the plane, while the lower half will be shown on the RIGHT side. "Stock" nosearts have the image on the upper part, but there's nothing preventing you from editing the file to make it appear on the right, by placing the image on the bottom.
That's not very practical, but if you want a certain noseart to be on the right of the plane, that's the way to get it. Of course, doubling the image above and below will make it appear on both sides.
Hope this helps you!

I understand it's a pity that just a few planes in the game can show nosearts, when in reality almost all of them had one. But, talking about showing the noseart on the right side (on planes that allow noseart), that can be done.
