Ok, so I did some research and I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Here's the problem. I've gotten a new computer with Windows 7, right, and I go to install IL2 1946 only to realize I can't find the original disc. So, I use my backup digital copy, an .iso file, I mount, install. Then I know that I'll have disc issues, so I rename the il2fb.exe file to il2fb_original.exe and place a cracked file named il2fb.exe in there. Now, before I continue, I have tried several cracks and still nothing works. Anyways, so I then go and install my 4.08m and 4.09m patches. After that, i use my HSFX 4.0 and 4.1 mods and use the General Mod switcher to turn on HSFX. I go to run the sim through Game Booster and it pulls up 4.07m. I think I might have a corrupted install somewhere, but I'm tired of troubleshooting right now so if anyone here has an idea, I would greatly appreciate it.
Does the game run if you do not use Game Booster? (Mine works whether or not I use it, but you never know). I run Game Booster and then start the game from it's own .exe, without using Game Booster to start it.
I haven't tried that... I've uninstalled again and am downloading fresh copies of 4.08m and 4.09m. I'm also going to check the hash sums on HSFX 4.0 and 4.1. I plan on using the Direct2Drive patch instead of using a crack, but would I install that to 4.07m or 4.09m or to the modded version?
Make sure to test that the game still works as you complete each stage. That way you can better isolate the problem if something goes wrong.
on you other PC look @ all il2fb.exe's (previous game installs 1 will/should have it) locate 1 which is approx 4,442kb in size & c/p that into your game (replacing file which is 156kb) ..this will replace the secure rom feature.this will apply to vers 4.08..if You install to vers 4.08 then replace the above file upgrade to HFXS is now seamless to 4.0 then apply 4.1 patch..after you have HSFX installed U will see il2b.exe back to 156kb but no worries all will be fine when u select 4.09m in jsgme..
