Thanks guys!
Here's some extra info for y'all
It's kind of an oddball aircraft...it's been misidenitfied as '< - + -', being the personal aircraft of Obslt. Gerhard Michalski. Recently discovered photos published in Jerry Crandal's Dora books "reveal a small 1 inside the chevron designating it as a Geschwaderstab aircraft, not necessarily that of Michalski's."
Here's a color shot taken from film footage of the plane after it was captured, being inspected by US personnel:
And a black & white shot taken some time later...it's suffered some damage and the canopy has been removed:
It's the only documented D9 with the JG 4 Knight's Head emblem...add to that the wacky RLM 75/76 camo spots on the nose, RLM 74 used to fill in the fuselage balkenkreuz, an overall 74/75/76 finish with 83 oversprayed on the spine, and 74/75 mottle on the fuselage...it's really a unique looking bird. A very busy paint scheme to say the least
.
Cheers!
