[Download] Shell Casings Mod
#1

Hello everyone,

This is a wee mod I made to give the ejected shell casings from aircraft a much smaller appearance.

The idea originated from this thread. http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...63&t=31263

Both cannon and gun shells are reduced. The cannon ones, not so much.

Originally, these files came from socorrista22198 @ the UltraPack forums. I've just messed around inside them a bit.
I asked socorrista if this was ok by him and he said be my guest. Just wanted to thank him for the go ahead.

The download contains a file for your Mods folder and also the basic ones to add to UP 2.01 if you use it. There's instructions in the readme.

A picture of the P-47. If any aircraft spews casings...it's this one. 8 x .5's

Hi Hey_Joe. Smile
I reduced the size of the shells for my personal use, I modified the Shellbig.tga file, if you want you can use my tga file in your mod.

You copy the Shellbig.tga file, and you paste it into the GunShells folder.

Hi ton414,
Thanks for posting the link to your Shellbig.tga image. Smile

I'm new to IL-2 Sturmovik 1946, so there are many mysteries unknown to me about the structure of the sim. :-?

I had run a search through IL 2's main folder but could not find it. I guess it is buried in one of those sfs files.

I'll take your .tga image and see what kind of combination's can be had. I appreciate you sharing that little gem.

Hey There Planemad,
Thanks for the encouraging words.
And also for the assist in getting around in the AAS forums.

Till later, Joe

Yes it was into a SFS file, if you have space in your hard disk, the best is to extract all SFS files.
