4.10m help :)
#1

Hi all,

I have just gotten around to updating 4.10 from 4.09. I uninstalled my game completely and then reinstalled thinking it would delete all of my old mods on my game, I had Up 2.01. However, today when I installed JSGME with Modact pack (that was somewhere here on the forums) my game will not even start. I need a CLEAN game to run the modact+ Basic pack, and was wondering how I can find all of these mods, that I need deleted and how I make sure UP 2.01 is off as well.

Thanks for any help,

Keegc.

Just make a backup copy of your old MODS, JSGMEMODS, FILES folders.

*******USE THEM FOR REFERENCE ONLY!!!! DO NOT USE THEM WITH 4.10m MODDED!!!!!

Next run CCleaner and use the registry cleaner to remove all old entries from the registry.

Now, if you want to run multiple copies of the game ie. UP 2.01, HSFX 4.11 and 4.10m Modded you should do the following....

1. Install the game in the normal way.
2. Patch it up to 4.09m (Official patches only!!!)
3. Re-name the directory from IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 to IL-2 1946 Baseline. This will be your Baseline copy of the game in case anything ever goes wrong with one of your modded installs.
4. Create a new directory (folder) on your C: Drive or another hard drive and call the folder IL-2 1946 4.10 MOD and then Copy the IL-2 Baseline to the new Folder.
Do this for all versions you wish to run.

Mine looks like this:
IL-2 1946 Baseline (Stored on external drive)
IL-2 1946 UP (Stored on my Games HD)
IL-2 1946 HSFX (Stored on my Games HD)
IL-2 1946 4.10m Modded (Stored on my Games HD)

5. Now run your 4.10m Official Patch on the IL-2 1946 4.10m Modded folder you created.
6. Run the 4.10m mod self install file and point it to your IL-2 1946 4.10m Mod folder.
7. Extract the Bomber Pit pack to your IL-2 1946 4.10m Modded MODS folder.
8. Install any other mods (4.10m Approved ONLY!) to their recommended folders.

Most of the mods I use are for use with JSGME.
