This may be a dumb question, but where can I change my password on here? Do I need to use the "reset password" thing after a failed log in attempt? I thought I could change it from the user control panel.

Yes, you can change it from the "UCP".

You go into the "Profile" than "Edit account settings" - there you can change your password!
