Windows 7 upgrade=any problems to watch out for??
#1

I'm upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 and probably from 32 bit to 64 bit for future install on Cliffs of Dover...BUT I want to make sure I can still play Il-2 4.10.1 UP modded sim...Will I have to worry about any issues in offline play with this new upgrade? :-?

I use win 7, and I still play Modded Il-2 Sturmovik with no problems. I play offline and Online.

So no, you shouldn't have any problems.

Hello, I just bought a new notebook with Windows 7 on it and tried to install IL-2 from an IL-2 1946 CD-Rom. It didn't turn out very well. May be I do something wrong? The CD Rom station makes a lot of noise and I managed only once to get it installed, after trying a lot with blood, sweat and tears, but I couldn't get it started. The only thing I got was a window with the warning the 32 bit game would not run on a 64 system.
Can you tell me how to install it? For instance, where will the Ubisoft folder be located (in C\Program files or C\Program Files 84) and do I have to create Ubisoft\IL-2 folder myself?
Many questions....

Greetings,

Achilles

Hi, guys

It is still important to install or move IL-2 out Program Files. My IL-2 versions are all major folders alongside Windows, Users, AppData, and so forth. It is actually possible to make the IL-2 folder as a disk partition, too, but not really necessary. The sim performs slightly better with the shortest possible file path compared with a long one.

See my guides and also those of Administrator - {HVY-E}Jinxx who have tutes in the IL-2 Technical Help forum and the PC Technical Help forum of this Help Desk Section.

Of course, you may also ask Mr. Search, but feel free to ask us for help.
