The 78th Fighter Group was formed on February 17th, 2011 in pursuit of creating three Fighter Squadrons the 82nd, 83rd and 84th which forms a Fighter Group. The 78th Fighter Group is an objective based Group that carries out missions such as: dive-bombing, strafing, fighter/bomber escort, and fighter sweeps. The 78th Fighter Group flies the P-38 Lightning, P-47 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang as the real Group did from 1943 to 1945 in the European Theater of Operations, the 78th FG was the fifth highest scoring Fighter Group out of the 14 that created the 8th Air Force Fighter Command. Our goal is to bring back History, friends and realism. The 78th FG flies in the Online Combat Servers that cover Semi and Full Realism Settings, our Operations include flying Bomber Escort for the 91st Bomb Group and HVY Bomb Group, carrying out Ground Attack Missions hitting targets of opportunity being Enemy Ground Forces and Airfields.

Cnopicilin! Go sign up on the forums for the 78th Fighter Group, go to the recruitment section and post there. I'll be gone for a week along with several of the 78th pilots, we're meeting up at a week long Airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at Airventure.
