hey i just installed il2 (and patches 303, 402, 403, 404, 407, 408, 409, and 4101) and im wondering do i have to set anything into the x86 path because some of the game installed there (IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 under ubisoft)
while forgotten battles has installed under *32 Ubi Soft (note space)

ok, so i installed it in both directories
but it now says i only have up to v 4.07
wtf?

i wasen't paying attention to the install directories and the patch directories
IL2:1946 installs into C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 by default on windows 7
however the patches by default go into C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/IL-2 Sturmovik 1946
and then HSFX wants to install into C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/IL-2 Forgotten Battles
it really pissed me off but i worked around it

So did you point the patches and HSFX at the "(x86)" file?

Your best bet is too install IL-2 and HSFX into a custom directory well away from the default Program Files. Il-2 doesn't need to be in there; in fact mine are all on a separate hard drive with the rest of my flight sims. They run just fine.
