I recommend downloading HSFX 5.1 for 4.101

As its the latest patch and also it will allow you to play online, which is always nice :wink:

Or maybe wait until a new working HSFX update is avalible for 4.11 :wink:

I would recommend patching it up to 4.101 available on M4T here --> http://www.mission4today.com/index.php? ... ls&id=4044

Then you should be able to get HSFX 5 (I think the hostfix 4.101 is required)

Currently the M4T website is down, but on the 242 squadron site, there is a link that leads to a download for 4.11. Should I download that instead of 4.101? And the head straight for downloading the HSFX 5.0?

And also, the forum post speaks of a jsgme switcher that I need to use to disable all installed mods. But so far, I have only patched my game from the stock 4.7 all the way to 4.10 without adding any mods. Do I need to download this jsgme switcher and if I do, where should I place it in my folders?

No, no, for HSX 5 you will need a clean version of 4.101

**NOTE**

This is an ALL IN ONE installer designed to go over a stock version of il2 patched upto 4.10.1

(or any older installation so long as it is patched up to il2 4.10.1)

Ah okay, well just to clean up anything I might have downloaded, I'm going to reinstall it again from the v4.7 disk

Can you list all of the links in order of what I should download before downloading HSFX 5.0 and anything after it as well?
(And hopefully the links will work too, since the links in the other posts about patching up the game to 4.8/ 4.9/ 4.10/ ect. are all dead)

You can find the patches on M4T (You'll need to create an account if you don't already have one)

Ok, to install you must patch in to order above,

4.07 (DISK) --> 4.08 --> 4.09 --> 4.09 skin pack --> 4.10 --> 4.101

IMPORTANT Test you game after Download and installing each patch

REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR STOCK GAME FILES FOR A QUICK RE-INSTALL IF ALL FAILS

Then if it all works successfully, download HSFX 5.0 via torrent so it isn't corrupt, then follow the instructions as posted on the 242 Squadron 8) (I'll post them here for easy access )

Install HSFX version 5.0 Run HSFX_Version_5_0.EXE and answer the questions displayed by the installer, Ensure that when the installer asks for which folder to install Version 5.0 into, that you point it at the folder for the Il2 Sturmovik 46 directory you want to update.

IMPORTANT : For user's with previous versions of The History Mod and any other Mod packages installed, the Version 5.0 Installer will delete the previous versions Files and Mods folders and all files, as they must be updated to work with the Team Daedalus 4.10 and 4.101 patches to function. If you want to keep these folders, you should rename them, or move them before running the Installer.


Step 4 : Use the jsgme switcher, and enable the HSFX History mod.

Okay, now I've finished downloading and installing everything. But how do I make sure HFSX 5.0 works? I forgot what things were part of this package so is there any obvious changes I should look for? (Like new visuals or planes?)

After I enabled the HSFX History mod through the jsgme mod, there still were no changes to the game. Did I do something wrong or did I miss something?

When I start the game, the loading screen still asys v4.10.1

Did you go into the JSGME and enable HSFX by moving it from the left to the right? :|

Did you install HSFX where your Il-2 is installed?

I have, right now the HSFX History mod is on the right side and I can see all of the HSFX files in the main game folder

Hi all

I have freshly patched up to 4.10 from 4.09m on Steam and want to install HSFX 5. I am confused by the different version of Il2 patches, and mods, possibly due to the way they are being referred to. There are versions 4.11m, 4.11, 4.101, 4.101m, 4.10, 4.10m and 4.09m running in Hyperlobby so not sure if these are all accurately spelt. :-?


Is 4.10 the same as 4.10m? Do I need 4.10m instead to load mods?

Is 4.101 the same as 4.11 or has someone forgotten to put the zero in as I cant find a 4.11 patch anywhere?

There is HSFX 5.0 released and a 5.01 hotfix. Is there now a 5.1 as well or has someone forgotten to put the zero in?


Now that I have 4.10 loaded, I need to load 4.101, then HSFX 5.0, then HSFX 5.01 hotfix?

Hi Matt and welcome to All Aircraft Simulations, yes you will need to patch Il-2 up to 4.101 if you would like to used HSFX 5 8)
