As for my 1.000th post,
Big Grin  Big Grin
I'm glad to announce you a new project for WWII sims.

777 Studios partners with 1C to create 1C Game Studios (1CGS) and develop IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad

777 dev team has done many great things for ROF, and with the 1C experience, IL2 Sturmovik - Battle Of Stalingrad promised to be the next n°1 in simulators history.

More here http://il2sturmovik.net and here http://www.riseofflight.com

Have fun and nice flights pilots ;o)

Bonjour Ted,

and congratulation to your 1,000th post! :Smile)

A very interesting message and news.
It seems in the future we will pay per plane, per instrument and per weapon... maybe?
At least or on the other side the game will be constantly developed...
It is something to think about..

It seems like.

In fact, ROF has developped a business strategy with Payable DLC. On one hand you get a not very expensive game with some planes, but on the other hand you have to pay to get more aircrafts, mods, weapons... And finally you have to spend more money to have more choices.

I don't know if 1C will adopt this strategy. I remember I have read somewhere an interview of Oleg and he said he would prefer an expensive game with a lot of planes included than some payable downloadable contents even if the DLC appears to be more lucrative.

But business is business and plane simulation is a very specialized market where people have the same passion for aircrafts and history, and want something realistic. So if people are ready to pay to add DLC, no doubt this strategy will be done. I'll be curious to see how it will offer when it will be ready. If someone find more information about it, please share it ;o)

BTW, if you work at Ubisoft, 1C or 777 studio and you are looking for someone in marketing/strategy department, drop me a PM Big Grin ;o)

Yeah, I got an email about this.

Business strategy is subject to change. We have seen this in the past, especially with 1C. Both 777 Studios and 1C come to the Stalingrad project with experience. It is a very ironic partnership given the origins of 777 studios. The 1C skills in IL-2 Sturmovik and Theatre of War somehow compliment the art skills of 777 Studios. Given the near failure of Battle of Britain in the early releases, it must have become clear that outside help would be needed for 1C to accomplish a huge project such as Stalingrad.

I will not be dropping one red cent on anything until they fix what they started......
CLoD was a total flop and now they want us to drop another $60.00+ into a new sequel when their track record says "Give us your money and we'll give you a beautifully wrapped box of crap".

1c, FIX WHAT YOU STARTED FIRST!!!!

Funny how it's being called BoS...
Hope it doesn't stand for Box Of Shit.
