There was an almost 2 year period in the middle of the war when Hitler forbade the development of new weapons unless they could be fielded within six months from the start of a project. This was waived or disobeyed with a few projects. Massive expense, labor, and crowding caused by competing projects in the final couple years sealed the doom of the Third Reich which was only part of the many blunders by Hitler and his regime.
In the case of the jets, they never got the resources dedicated to them which was justified by their performance, as mentioned in the video. The V1 and V2 weapons were produced in the thousands, as were the total of other exotic weapons. Most of those kinds of devices had little impact on the war. It would have been better to devote energy toward U-boats, anti-aircraft guns, aircraft, alternative synthetic fuel and lubrication, and specifically the jets much more than they did.
Another example of the wastefulness of the leadership of the Third Reich was the over 30 anti-aircraft missile programs, most of which were redundant similar concepts.
It is ironic that the German workers, scientists, and engineers were among the most skilled in the world, but their effectiveness was cut by the blunders of Hitler.
Thanks for posting the interesting video.
