Ice Eagle's Hanger

You know, that´s really sad.

When I found out this game could be modded it was a great day!! Finnally a way to enjoy this flying simulator platform in so many levels.

Many and I say many people are responsible for making this game great and they could have been doing that for themselves but they choose to share with others....share with less talented users that could not mod by themselves.

What happened them?? Suddenly all this became less interesting than fighting each other....oh yes, proving a point over the internet   with people that one will ever really meet in flesh and bone. For what?? Accomplish what?? Sadly there is no solution for this, no end for this.

What are you fighting over? The hearts and minds of the innocent newbies over here??

Ashehouse, how can Ice prove something over the internet?? Would you be willing to see the file properties date of his template and compare with Max´s? Would you say that the name of the file is not Ice´s name or Max´s name, or the date would have been edited over photoshop....and so on, and on....??? It´s impossible to prove in a definitive level.

Hotel, you use to be welcomed in FM before you posted two signatures. Even after that you received just a warning and was not banned for this. This is a simple administrative measure that would be the same towards any other member. For the record Beo consulted all the administration staff and this was a decision we took as a team.

Londo, I would suggest you to wait a bit before voicing opinions since you look like a new member. I myself took years and I mean it before expressing opinions in this forums because I know much had happened before my registration. Unless you are not that new, just someone old in disguise...

Beo and DM you guys have lived this game for much time now, you know things that can not be shared unless you are willing to expose people which you will not. This is a decent approach which people interested in stir things up will never reckognize. Of course for the newby Beo may sound a bit harsh, but we are not that innocent too. Moreover it is much likely that all of us had already experienced in life people with strong tempers and still they were right for many of their statements. So please let´s not be hypocrites and make judgements here.

As a personal statement, much, much before I was invited to the FM administration I saw people getting ridicularized in SAS by the administrators. I even came to express this openly and then in pms with the administration. None of this changed, these sort of thing kept going on and I was about to leave the site when was invited to work with them in a project. I stayed in behalf of the project and the community but I was really dispointed when the Huey was put out by FM and SAS attitude was too much reckless with the team involved in the Huey project.

The last time I tried to freely express myself there (SAS) it was to thank a FM guy for his work on a mod that was exposed in SAS by the SAS administrators. For this I was shut up, my answer deleted and I could no longer write in there. I asked to have my account deleted.

I have never offended anyone, neither took an aggressive approach in public or in pms against none of the SAS members or administrators. I even helped substantially in the MiG-21 PF cockpit texturing that was entirely blank when I came to the project. For what??

So in my view wherever there is smoke there will be fire...Beo must not be THAT wrong after all.

You ask how Ice, or Beo (since it was he, in this thread, that accused Max of producing skins which were ripped off), can prove something over the internet. Well so far they have made no attempt to prove it, relying instead on bluster, abuse and personal insult. Do you still seriously think that any proof exists? I did not ask for much, just proof. Is that too much to ask for? Apparently it is.

HOLY F*CK Ashe, I'm going to dumb this down so that my have retarded incest bred grade 2 educated niece could even understand.

Those were my textures from Rise of Flight, from before IL-2 1916 even came out. I used those textures on my RoF Albatros D.Va before even the
Albatros came out for IL-2 1916.

Go here: SAS under the WWI section. Where did all of max's templates & skins for the Albatros go?
Go here: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php? ... 108&page=1. Again where did all of max's Albatros go?

IF he has nothing to worry about, the why delete all his files/threads? Maybe because Jason from RoF had a chit chat with max LMAO.
You can get them, but you'll have to PM Max. IF he doesn't know you, or your not an SAS insider.. good luck LOL.

BUT nothing will convince you Ashe. Ask over at SAS where the F-18 came from  You can disguise it all you want, but the original authors know there
work.. bank on that friend.

that's the point Asshe, Nobody here has to prove ANYTHING to the likes of you or any other SAS member... despite you endlessly and mindlessly bleating on 'show me show me show me.' lol. :Smile) :Smile) :Smile)

you forget, you're not over at the SAS where the likes of YOU can demand anything.

ice say's (once again) that Max used one of his textures, I for one believe him and I've stated why I believe him. there's no other answer for anything you're DEMANDING (if you had any right to demand anything in the first place which you don't.) and you know it, but you ...just can't stop bleating out...'show me show me show me' like a broke record on steroids.

I find it hilarious that you are caught in the stupe loop of constant demanding and saying the same ole same ole to infinity. I understand that you're trying to stir up trouble and sow the seeds of misdirection...that 'is' after all the SAS way, but you've carried it to the point now that you've lost ALL credibility (if you ever had any) here. you've become a joke...and we're all laughing, but not in a 'good' or really 'funny' way.

at this point i'm going to ask YOU some things... (1.) show me ALL the hundreds of mods that you've done and released for the Il2 community. (2.) show me the hundreds of postings where you've helped encourage free thinking and the free modding for the IL2 community base. (3.) show me the dozens and dozens of modding tutorials you've posted freely in the clear for the aid of 'any' person that might want to mod the IL2 game. (4.) show me the net site and forum that you've personally started, or that you presently run, where you freely advance the game of IL2 for any and all that might want or need help with modding or even playing it.

in effect, Asshe, show me what the frig that YOU'VE done that makes you a GREAT man in the IL2 modding community and therefore gives YOU the right to DEMAND anything from anybody. and while you're doing all this... give me the PROOF of all that in complete black and white.

:-?

now... what's the reason for me asking all of that? simple... I (and i'm sure others here too) would once and for all like a complete list of your all-powerful accomplishments and earth-shaking credentials that 'entitles' you to come here and DEMAND anything.

once you've completely satisfied our reserves on that issue, i'm sure we'll ALL feel a lot better about you over and over again making your endless (and mindless) demands.

I know I certainly will.

so how about it? show us your god-given proof to demand anything by showing us your overpowering credentials that 'gives' you the right to demand anything.

after that we'll all talk about it some more. but till then... yeah.

You know, its a shame. Asheshouse, VPMedia, HA200/redpilot7 & that other guy I've never even heard of; please read this and try to understand:

Get over it guys! What you're trying to do by debating here (and we are all guilty of this) is akin to trying to convince a guy that your favorite football team is better than his and that he should switch teams... In the middle of a game...

I'm not going to debate with you because it would be like arguing with the wall. Pointless. You won't listen to anyone other than the SAS guys because in your mind they can do no wrong.

DM, I must applaud your patience and good humor; I am amazed the guys I listed up there are still members here.

Well they have been relatively good mannered, there voicing their opinion Here & at FM that (as long as its within the rules) does not ban anybody willy nilly.
Try doing this at SAS and its an instant vacation. Argue with a moderator over at SAS, and your on a permanent vacation.

Anyways, I cannot find max's Albatros anywhere. IF somebody has it that shows the multi-colored fabric lozenge WITH the red tape along the seams, please post it,
and I'll show exactly what I'm talking about.

This would not be banning wholesale willy nilly. The guys I mentioned are quite happy to express their contempt for those who are nice enough to set up and operate AAS and FM to their faces. Call them liars, even.

I think that is pretty bad form. Yes, SAS moderators would not allow it. I wouldn't either. But, I will not presume to tell DM or the admin here how to run their house, just like they don't tell me or any of the other FM guys.

It does make for entertaining reading, though. Especially Beo explaining to HA 200/redpilot7 the difference between making duplicate accounts (wrong) and a general account to be used by admins (pretty normal and dine widely on several forums I frequent). Classic.

quite right, DM. if people check into the history of German camouflage and its use in both WWI and WW2 they'll quickly see that there were quite some 'funky' ideas displayed on fully-operational war machines; from tanks and ground cars to fighter planes and bombers.

one of my favorites is seeing a real life color photo of a honking HUGE Tiger tank lumbering along (taken at the Battle of the Bulge conflict) an icy, snowy, muddy road that was painted overall grey, and that had been partially repainted in places with white snow camo paint, then over-painted once again with 'purple' splotches of paint intermixed with the snow camo paint!

g'ah! Confusedhock:

there was no way that this war machine was in any way really camouflaged or less easier to see and so i can only assume that it was done to 'freak out' the rum-soaked American minds of the US soldiers fighting there.

but in truth and to be fair, some Allied units (land, sea and air) also had some odd and pretty bizarre camo and/or signature paint sets as well. of course to see them you really usually have to do the research for them.

I have seen huge nose art on B-24 and B-17's... They sometimes extend well beyond the nose, sometimes from the whole fuselage! Confusedhock:

The Germans during WWI were allowed to paint their own planes so that is why so many funky things come up when you see the Albatros or Dr1.

'Red 8' was a Bf 109G-6 flown by Oblt. Kurt Gabler, III./JG300, in July 1944. From photographs this aircraft appears to have been sanded back from its original RLM74/75/76 finish, reportedly in an effort to increase its speed for intercepting RAF Mosquitos. Traces of paint are visible on the wing root and base of the elevators, and the swastika has clearly been sanded down, leaving only a faint trace. Note that the gun troughs and various access panels appear darker than the rest of the aircraft because they are composed of darker metals (e.g., the gun troughs were iron). This same effect is seen in photographs of a sanded down Bf109G belonging to the National Air and Space Museum (NASM), adding support to the claim that "Red 8" was natural metal rather than light grey.
