Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-4 belly lands at the Roskilde Airshow 2013.
The aircraft apparently suffered from engine malfunction of some sorts.
The pilot is ok! 8)

Confusedhock:

I am glad that nobody got hurt.

That looks like a nice landing by a skilled pilot, under the circumstances, so maybe the airframe of the plane is not too badly damaged and she can be restored and fly again someday.

The photographer was really good and must have had a nice camera to make such clear pictures. It looks as it might have been in the war when a pilot was forced to belly land.

This plane has got quite an history.
Crashed three times, in 2005, in 2008 and now. Confusedhock: :-?
Wonder what the name of this Gremlin is....?

Very sad indeed.

MEchanical reality. The RAF owned 109G suffered the same fate, only they thought the airframe too valuable to risk flying again, and it went to Hendon. The DB is a great engine but fussy, and as it happens reliability in aeroplanes of that era is never guaranteed.
