Break Turn

o This maneuver uses the enemies poorer turn radius (if he is poorer) or his higher energy (if you have been boom and zoomed) against him.
o If the attacker is off to the right of the defender (D1) then do the opposite
o When the attacker is getting close, quarter aileron roll to the left (if coming from left) (D1)
o Now turn sharply into his path (D2), after you have started to turn, gently add rudder left (for left turn). This will act as an air brake and make you turn very quickly
o The attacker may try to follow you through the turn (A3) but will not be able to out turn you very easily, resulting in an overshoot.
o You may wish to run away, or try and barrel roll to the right over his plane and onto his six. (D3-A4)
