Ardennes Winter Question
#1

Hi all,

Some very impressive stuff being done here! I have a question about an existing map that maybe can now be resolved. Allied static aircraft on the Ardennes Winter map are incorrectly marked as VVS. Its a known bug the devs say they will not have time to fix. Any chance it can be corrected?

You can change the nation of any static aircraft on any map with the properties tab when you place an aircraft on the ground.

Or is that not what you mean?

Apparently these objects are incorrectly coded and can be changed manually, but I believe generating a new campaign, etc, results in all the static USAAF stuff going back to VVS. When the map was released I talked to Ian Boys about it and they said there was nothing they could do. I thought I'd ask the question, at least, and see if it goes anywhere...

I do know that the map's load.ini will set the camouflage for default AI and static aircraft, but there is no setting that controls the nations that are to be portrayed on a given map. That is either controlled by the mission maker, or the mission generator.

Personnally, I've never had this problem, or had never even heard of this before today, but from what I do know with regards to map making is that most likely it is not the map that is responsible for this bug.

I will extract the load.ini's of Ardennes Winter and go over it just to be sure, but I'm pretty certain the map isnt the problem.

You could very well be right. This problem was identified right after BOE came out. Every mission I have that was generated by DGEN on that map has the problem. Static aircraft only, mind you. Thanks for your feedback. Let me know the results of your tests, and let me know the version of DGEN you are using if you do try it out.
