Is it possible to mod it so u can bind a key so you can open/close the bomb doors at will on aircraft that have them?

That would be so awesome!! That's one of the things about IL-2 that really surprised me when it first came out. With Oleg's attention to detail and all, it amazed me that he neglected to include the bomb bay doors as a functional item. I mean, he gave us control of the freakin magnetoes for Pete sake!!! :lol:

I would imagine that it will be a bit more complicated than it appears, since the bomb drop is bound to the doors opening, or vise versa.

Thinking about it, it would allow for more ease of use in a bomb run - you'd be able to achieve a more accurate bomb drop, as you wont have that second or so of lag - allowing for the doors to open

look the ai on the B-25. before he drop the bomb, he open the door, and 10 ten second after, he drop the bomb!

Yes and have a key when dameged to open them on hand like the gears of the I-16

The AI always opens the bomb door when it reaches the waypoint just before the ground attack waypoint, so it appears to be linked to waypoints.

See what you mean about the bomb doors being tired into the way points, well looks like it might not be possible, but fingers crossed one day

Well, they're only tied to the waypoints for aircraft being flown by AI. When a human is flying, the doors don't open until you actually drop the bomb, then close immediately. So, it's obvious that the doors are connected to the key press that drops the weapon. If you can separate the two, that would be great!! One toggle for the doors, and one for bomb release. Maybe even go so far as to prevent the bomb from releasing UNLESS the doors are open.....for us old farts suffering from CRS! :lol:
