Smaller Speedbar increments (Replaced 5/15/08 by HUDConfig)
#1

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This mod has been superseded by the HUDConfig mod located here:

viewtopic.php?t=4979
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod makes the Speedbar altitude and airspeed increments smaller.

- Changes altitude increments from 50ft/10m to 10ft/5m.
- Changes speed increments from 10KIAS/10mph/10kmh to 5KIAS/5mph/5kmh.
- **NEW** Allows user to choose the units displayed at mission startup (kmh, mph, knots, or none).
- **NEW** Allows user to set the increments for altitude and airspeed.

This mod supersedes the orignal beta SmallerSpeedbarIncrements1 mod.

The filename is SpeedbarConfig_b2.rar and is available here:

http://hosted.filefront.com/Fireballx

For those that cannot get to filefront, here's another link:

http://webpages.uah.edu/~pacificfighter ... fig_b2.rar

Extract the folder in the rar file to the MODS folder in your IL-2 1946 game folder.

The rar file also contains a README that gives more details about using the mod. If you just want to look at the README without downloading the mod, it's available here:

http://webpages.uah.edu/~pacificfighter ... DME_b2.txt

The mod is not currently compatible with MrJolly's HUD mod. However we do plan to incorporate this mod into the HUD mod as soon as any bugs in this beta are worked out.

If you have any of these mods installed you will need to remove them or (at least temporarily) disable them:

-SmallerSpeedbarIncrements
-SpeedbarSingleDigitsTest
-MPH_KPH_AND_FEET_METERS_HUD_v2
-Mph_and_Feet_First_SpeedBar

Give it a try if you're interested and let me know what think.

Ok I have a decent amount of the mods here so I understand the installing process, but I can not seem to get this mod to work. Sad I got the new wrapper and stuff so if anyone could shed a little light I would greatly appreciate it. A squad mate of mine cant get his to work either. I place the folder in the mods folder but nothing. This is one of those small little changes that can bring much to the game in my opinion and would love to get it to work.

TO INSTALL

ok guys, remember as mentioned above, this does not work with Jolly's MPH_AND_FEET_HUD mod, so to uninstall that just remove it from your MODS folder.

Then
o Extract the "SmallerSpeedbarIncrements1.rar" to the desktop or folder of choice
o Open the folder or navigate to the file labelled "0A535B74072406CC" copy
o Navigate to route of IL-2 1946 and open "FILES" Folder Default route C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946
o Paste to here, then start game.

i am not sure on installation using the MODS folder but this is a guaranteed method

The only thing I can think of is that it is conflicting with another mod that uses the 0A535B74072406CC file. The only mods that I know of that do that are MrJolly's HUD mods, but there could be some others. You could do a search in your Mods folder for that file and see if it pops up anywhere else. I believe the way it works is that when IL-2 needs that file it will search through the folders in the MOD folder in alphabetical order. So if it comes to the 0A535B74072406CC file in another mod first (e.g. Mr Jolly's mod) it will use that version of the file which doesn't have the Speedbar mod. To ensure it's using the Speedbar mod version of the file you could (temporarily at least) rename the 'SmallerSpeedbarIncrements' folder to 'AAASmallerSpeedbarIncrements' or something like that. Of course you would lose whatever other mod also used that file, until you changed it back. Hopefully that will solve or least diagnose the problem.

For those that want to have both the MrJolly's HUD mod and the Speedbar mod, maybe MrJolly could incorporate the Speedbar mod into his HUD mod.
