While looking for images of Okinawa for panzerkeil I came across the US Army's official publications on WWII which includes campaign books --- I used to own the Battle for Okinawa but lost it in one of my many moves as part of a military career. However the good news is what used to be out of print books are now online complete with illustrations, photos, and maps. Check this site out if you are considering redoing a map.
